Box Hill Villagers

They meet every 3rd Thursday of the month at 2.30 pm in the Village Hall. They have had some very interesting speakers and also organise outings. They always welcome new members and the subscription is £12 a year. So please think of joining them.  It is a great way to get to know your neighbours on the hill.  You are also welcome to join their events as a visitor.  Please contact Val Cross for more details – 01737 843165

Box Hill Social Club (previously known as Box Hill Over ‘50’s Club)

The group meets every Tuesday in the Village hall for bingo and a chat from 2 - 4.30 pm. The subscription is £1.50 per week and tea and cake is available for £1.  They organise some great trips out too.

They are a friendly bunch of people and would welcome new members, so please think about going along.  Again it is a great way to get to know more people who live on the Hill.

Box Hill Good Neighbours Scheme

The Good Neighbours team offer essential services to the elderly and disabled on the hill where volunteer drivers take residents to hospital, doctor and optician appointments. Since the scheme started over 2,000 trips have been made.  They normally operate Monday to Friday unless there is a real emergency.  The cost to residents is 50p per mile, 45p of which is given to the driver.  They are members of the National Good Neighbours Care Scheme. All drivers are security checked. They are always looking for more volunteer drivers, especially lady drivers. If you would like to help or would like more information, please contact Glenys Williams on 01737 844747 or 07557 325885

This is a wonderful scheme and something we should be very proud of.  A special thank you must go to all of their volunteers.

Box Hill Craft Club

Closed in 2020

Other Craft Groups that meet in the Village Hall

The Ashtead Beadworkers meet on the 1st Friday of each month to ply their craft, exchange knowledge, and enjoy a chat over a nice cup of tea! New joiners always welcome.

The Epsom Spinners meet on the 2nd Friday of every month. Find out how to spin different fibres, use a spinning wheel and ultimately create your own ‘designer’ yarns. New and experienced spinners are most welcome at their informal, eclectic gatherings.

Box Hill Knitters are also an established group who would love to welcome you on the 3rd Friday of every month to relax with your knitting over coffee and cake. It’s a great opportunity to share knitting (and crochet) tips and ideas, sort out problems and generally have time out to be inspired! All abilities from beginners to the seriously expert are very welcome.
